Owlbum of Great Horned Owls - updated March 23, 2010
February - March 2010 at Fort Matanzas National Monument near St Augustine

In the St Augustine area this month? If so, head on down to Fort Matanzas where you can get an upclose look at a family of Great Horned Owls. The baby owlet is still in the nest, and the parents are taking turns showing their baby 'how to be an owl.' The owlet should be flying before the end of March. Please enjoy the photos and go take a look at the owls for yourself. The only thing they ask - no flash photography or hooting!

February 10, 2010 - our first visit to see the Great Honed Owls... no sign of the baby yet...

March 23, 2010 - Everything is fine. The baby owlet reappeared in a tree not to far away. Seems he is getting pretty brave!
