"Flagler College during Nights of Lights"
St Augustine, Florida. Originally built in the 1880s as Henry Flagler's Ponce de Leon Hotel, it was the grandest hotel in St Augustine. It is now home to Flagler College, but maintains the prestige and eligance that it had when it was fist constructed. This photo is a long-exposure taken shortly after sunset from across the street at the Lightner Museum, another magical place. It is interesting to note that the Ponce de Leon Hotel was one of the first buildings in the United States to have electricity, as well as the nation’s first major poured-in-place concrete structure. If you have not been here, I highly recommend visiting historic St Augustine and taking a tour of Flagler College, which is offered daily.
